Guidelines for Submitting an Article
  1. Information is intended as a vehicle for communication in the soybean community. Articles may be preliminary in nature and speculative in content.  They should not be regarded as equivalent to papers in scientific journals.  Even so, such reports and information can be exceedingly helpful and valuable if viewed in the proper perspective. Sharing of technical tips, protocols, mutant descriptions, genetic markers and maps, and other information useful in the lab and field will benefit the soybean community.
  2. Contributions should be in English.  Please use Times New Roman, size 12 font with 1 inch margins on all sides.  Single space and left justify all text.
  3. Submit article in Word document format using filename of authors’ last name and date of article.  For example:  smith072605.doc
  4. Place address information below the title of the article.  You must include the author name(s), name of the institution, email address, postal mailing address.
  5. Separate article text by indicating “Abstract,” “Introduction,” Materials and Methods,” “Results and Discussion,” “Conclusion,” and “References.” Different sub-headings could be used in technical reviews, protocols or meeting reports.
  6. If you wish to assign new gene symbols or other genetic designations, the Soybean Genetics Committee (SGC) must review your article.  The SGN will pass all such articles on to the SGC for their approval.  For more information, refer to Rules and Genetic Symbols (soybase.org).
  7. Submit article to the Soybean Genetics Newsletter via email attachment to soygenetics@missouri.edu.
